MG Windsor EV : The MG Windsor EV has quickly become one of the more talked‑about electric vehicles in India, mainly because it blends MPV-like space with an EV-friendly driving experience.
Positioned between the Comet EV and the ZS EV in MG’s India lineup, the Windsor EV is aimed at buyers who want a roomy family electric car with modern features, decent range, and a premium cabin feel.
Design and Road Presence
The Windsor EV looks like a crossover that borrows practicality from an MPV and styling cues from a modern EV.
It gets a clean front profile, connected LED lighting elements, a charging port on the front fender, and a sculpted body that gives it a neat, futuristic stance without looking overly aggressive.
At the rear, the design stays minimal and tidy, while the side profile highlights a long wheelbase and large glass area that make the car look airy and spacious.
MG’s styling choice here is clearly family-first rather than sporty, and that makes sense for a model focused on comfort, space, and everyday use.
Cabin Space and Comfort
Inside, the Windsor EV is one of its segment’s most comfortable offerings. The biggest talking point is the 135-degree reclining rear seats, which MG markets as a lounge-style feature for relaxed long-distance travel.
The cabin also gets a 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a panoramic glass roof, ambient lighting, and premium upholstery on higher trims.
MG has clearly tried to make the Windsor EV feel more like a lounge on wheels than a typical compact EV, and that approach gives it a strong identity in a crowded market.
Battery, Range and Performance
The Windsor EV is offered with two battery options in the global and India-linked product family: a 38 kWh pack and a 52.9 kWh pack.
The smaller battery is rated for around 331–332 km, while the larger pack pushes the claimed range to about 449 km on a single charge.

Both versions use a front-mounted electric motor with 134 bhp and 200 Nm of torque, which is enough for smooth city driving and relaxed highway cruising.
The top speed is listed at 157 kmph, while charging time for the larger battery is around 9.5 hours on a 7.4 kW AC charger and roughly 50 to 60 minutes for 0–80% on a 60 kW DC fast charger.
Features and Practical Use
The Windsor EV stands out for practical EV features that many buyers will actually use.
It offers vehicle-to-load (V2L) and vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) support, allowing the car to power small appliances or even help charge another EV in an emergency.
Boot space is another strong point, with official figures around 579 litres, making it more useful than many traditional EVs and even some compact SUVs.
A 186 mm ground clearance also helps it handle rough city roads and speed breakers more confidently.
MG Windsor EV Price and Market Position
In India, the MG Windsor EV is currently priced in the ₹11.98 lakh to ₹18.39 lakh range, depending on the variant and battery pack.
Earlier launch pricing started at ₹9.99 lakh introductory, but the current market positioning places it squarely against rivals like the Tata Nexon EV, Tata Curvv EV, and Mahindra XUV400.

What makes the Windsor EV important is its combination of space, comfort, range, and premium in-cabin features at a price that still feels competitive for an EV of this size.
For families moving to electric mobility, the MG Windsor EV offers a practical, feature-rich, and city-friendly package that feels more premium than its price tag suggests.
